WOMEN'S BRONZE MEDAL GAME: #2 CAPILANO vs #4 UFV
Lady Blues bring home bronze
It was history repeating itself as the 2010 BCCAA Volleyball Championship medal rounds went underway today with a schedule that mirrored the 2009 bronze and gold medal match line ups at the Championships last year hosted by the Columbia Bible Bearcats in Abbotsford.
Although the schedule was a repeat, the outcome for the first match of the day was not. Starting the day was the Women’s Bronze medal match with the Capilano Blues taking down the UFV Cascades in four sets (in last year’s match-up, it was UFV who took the bronze in three straight sets).
Despite losing the first set 21-25, the Blues came back swinging winning the next three with conviction: 26-24, 25-13 and 25-18.
Players of the Match included first-year libero, Jacqueline Caverly from Capilano and fifth-year middle Kristine Ewald from UFV.
